Who we are.

The Bournemouth and District Women’s Bowling Association was founded in 1933, this year is our 90th anniversary.  The inaugral clubs included Bournemouth, Moordown, Southbourne, New Milton and Alum Chine.

The first leagues and competitions were played in the summer of 1933, with Southbourne  the winners of the first league trophy.

A singles and a pairs competitions were won by Mrs Barnsley Bournemouth BC and Mrs Miell and Mrs Woodcock  Southbourne BC respectively.

A message from our President.

To All Memebers of the Bournemouth and District Women’s Bowling Association

It is a great honour and a privilege to be your President for 2023  and to represent Lymington BC in this role.

I look forward to meeting as many of you as possible over  the summer, whether in league games, competitions  or friendly games. I hope you all have an enjoyable  and healthy season, full of fun and laughter, meeting old  and new friends alike, as seasoned bowlers or as new  members of the association.

Good luck in all your matches, whether it’s in B&DWBA  league games competitions, friendly games  or County competitions.

Also a special welcome to all our new bowlers joining  clubs in the B&DWBA this year.

My chosen charity for the year is the Bournemouth and District Women’s Refuge, and I hope you will all help me to support this very worthy charity.

Hopefully we will be blessed with good weather,  good bowling and good health.
